There is no definite adult vaccination program in Denmark corresponding to the childhood vaccination program.

Recommendations for vaccination are prepared by the National Board of Health and the Statens Serum Institut (SSI).

The Danish health authorities recommend vaccination against seasonal influenza for risk groups (among others pregnant women, more than 12 weeks old, older than 65 years, people with chronic diseases).

Certain risk groups are recommended to be vaccinated against, for example, hepatitis B and influenza, just as there are recommendations regarding, for example, measles, tetanus, and diphtheria.

Vaccination against hepatitis B is also recommended for children of mothers with hepatitis B, household members and sexual partners of people with hepatitis B, certain staff groups, men who have sex with men, and many other groups - including at travel-related risk.

There are also recommendations for pneumococcal vaccination of certain risk groups.

Women of childbearing potential who are not immune to rubella are recommended to be vaccinated (with measles, mumps, rubella vaccine).

Besides, it is stated that persons who are not immune to measles should be vaccinated, especially before traveling to the area of ​​measles circulation.

Finally, SSI recommends that everyone is revaccinated against diphtheria and tetanus every 10 years. Besides, revaccination in connection with travel abroad is recommended if the last vaccination was more than 10 years ago.

Also, there may be specific recommendations depending on one's profession, e.g., for sewer workers.

Some risk groups, such as adoptive parents of children coming from areas with a higher incidence of hepatitis A, are recommended to be vaccinated against hepatitis A.
